Pianist, bandleader, composer, and educator Thomas Snow is one of New England’s most versatile and sought-after musicians. A graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music (M.M. 2005) and the Berklee College of Music (B.M. 1991), Tom has studied with many fine pianists including Danilo Perez, Michael Cain, Jerry Bergonzi, Frank Glazer, and Chris Neville.

Tom has played with many musical luminaries including Harry Allen, Jeff Coffin, Dave Holland, Ken Peplowski, Greg Abate, Bruce Gertz, Larry Coryell, Nick Brignola, Phil Wilson, Mike Turk, Gray Sargent, John Lockwood, Dick Johnson, Herb Pomeroy, The John Allmark Jazz Orchestra, John MacNally, Gene McDaniels, Jonathan Edwards, and Les DeMerle.  In addition to session work on dozens of albums & CDs, he also has five CDs as a leader: “Northern Standard Time” (1997), “Christmas at Mast Cove” (2001), “Some Other Time” (2007), “Friends” (2013) which features folk superstar Jonathan Edwards, and Tom’s newest CD, “Duke’s Diamonds: an Ellington Celebration” (2015).  “Duke’s Diamonds” was recorded live at the Claremont Hotel in Southwest Harbor, ME on August 15, 2015 and features veteran saxophonist Ralph Norris and the incomparable Marshall Wood (bassist for Tony Bennett).

Tom has been active in the field of music education for thirty years.  His experiences have spanned both public and private schools including four years as Music Director at the Jesuit college preparatory school Cheverus (Portland, ME) and as a part of the Music Faculty at the prestigious Phillips Exeter Academy (Exeter, NH).  For thirteen years, Tom was Director of Jazz Studies for Bates College (Lewiston, ME).  Currently, he is teaching improvisation, composition, and piano studies from his studio in Yarmouth, ME.

Tom’s performing career has included international tours spanning three continents.  Performances have included tours of Australia and throughout the United States with noted Irish tenor John MacNally and long-term engagements at the Ritz Carlton Resort on Amelia Island, Florida, The Balsams Grand Resort, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, and the Mount Washington Grand Resort.  For the past seven years, Tom has toured as pianist, arranger, and Musical Director for folk legend Jonathan Edwards. Tom’s orchestral arrangements have been performed by orchestras throughout the United States including the Portland Symphony Orchestra, the Kingfield Pops, the Phoenix Symphony, and the Winston-Salem Symphony.

Aside from an active gigging schedule and a continued commitment to music education, Tom loves spending as much time as possible at his home in Yarmouth, Maine with his wife Michelle, their sons Finn & Eli, and Gracie the family dog.
